Ducati Monster Senna Edition Revealed; Limited to 341 Units

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has revealed a new edition of the iconic Monster 900 motorcycle. The new edition is called Ducati Monster Senna, and it pays tribute to Formula 1 sporting icon Ayrton Senna. The company says that the new Ducati Monster Senna will be limited to only 341 units. The ‘3’ stands for his Formula One World Titles, and the 41 indicates how many races he has won.

The Ducati Monster 900 was first launched in 1993, and Formula 1 sporting icon Ayrton Senna was one of the first buyers of the bike. The brand has launched the Senna Monster limited edition in global markets, marking the 30th death anniversary of Ayrton Senna. The motorcycle gets a special livery, which is developed by Centro Stile Ducati with the collaboration of Senna Brands. The livery is inspired by the color of the world champion’s helmet that he wore during his races.

The Monster Senna has a vibrant new color theme that consists of blue, green, and yellow shades. The motorcycle’s belly pan, brake calipers, and wheel tags are colored yellow, while the seat is colored blue, and there are green-colored stripes all over the bike. The Senna insignia is inscribed at the back of each Ducati Monster Senna bike, followed by a numbered plaque on the handlebar. The phrase "Racing is in my blood" is written at the back of the new bike. The two-wheeler giant is also offering a specialized motorcycle cover with the new edition.

Powering the Ducati Senna Monster is a 937-cc Testastretta engine that churns out maximum power of 110 bhp at 9,250 rpm and peak torque of 93 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission unit. The limited-edition Ducati Senna Monster weighs 175 kg, 4 kg less than the standard bike. In the USA, the cost of the motorcycle is $25,000; if the motorcycle is launched in India, it will be priced around INR 21 lakh (ex-showroom). The automaker is expected to launch a few units of the new bike in India as well.
