Bugatti is a name synonymous with speed, exhilaration and luxury. The French automaker continues to raise its standards with every model it introduces in the market. The newest speedster to arrive from the luxury carmaker is Bugatti Bolide. Unveiled just yesterday, Bugatti Bolide Hypercar is a race-track oriented machine with unbelievable technology and features. It is inspired by the famous Bugatti Type 35 race car, it clocked over 2000 wins from 1924-1930. The manufacturer claims it to be the fastest and lightweight hypercar to emerge from its acclaimed design unit. It’s hard to believe that the Bugatti Bolide weighs just 1240 kgs. Based on computer simulations, it can lap the tough Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in just 5 minutes and 23 seconds.
Talking about the hypercar in detail, its roof intake scoop comes with a unique morphable skin lending active airflow optimization. At higher speed, the skin evolves into the field of bubbles to lower the aerodynamic drag on the hypercar. Difficult to believe but the brand claims the morphing skin offers 10 percent drag reduction and 17 percent lowering of lift forces. There are plenty of other technological advancements that the engineers have pulled off like optimization of the intake and exhaust system, revamped quadruple turbochargers. Its cooling and lubrication systems are also totally new. The performance-driven car is lightweight thanks to the use of carbon fibre and titanium parts.Â
Its two-seater cockpit meets the latest safety standards set by FIA like automatic fire extinguishing system, a six-point harness, polycarbonate windows, towing device among many others. Bugatti Bolide Hypercar comes powered by a massive 8.0-litre W16 petrol engine. This engine is capable of delivering an estonishing 1825 bhp of maximum power output with 1850 Nm of peak torque. It uses 110-octane fuel. Speed is well something that Bugatti's are famous for and this one does not disappoint at all. Thus the Bugatti Bolide can easily clocks a top speed of 500 kmph.Â
Overall, Bugatti has outdone itself with this hypercar as we wait for more information on its price. Whether or not it will make it to the production line is another debate altogether. Â
