Suzuki Motorcycles India has launched the BS6 compliant Intruder at an introductory price of Rs 1.20 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. The company had also showcased the BS6 version of the Intruder motorcycle at the 2020 Auto Expo last month. It is being offered in three color options - Metallic Matte Black/Candy Sanoma Red, Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Matte Titanium Silver and Metallic Matte Titanium Silver - while also equipped with a fuel injection system and Suzuki’s SEP technology.
The BS6 Suzuki Intruder doesn't get any cosmetic updates and is identical to the BS4 counterpart as it flaunts the same styling elements in the form of a sharp twin-barrel exhaust, LED taillight and LED DRLs. The other features include a digital instrument cluster and a premium backrest for the pillion. The overall design of the motorcycle is too unconventional and not everyone will like it in the first go. The suspension duties are carried by traditional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. As for braking, the company has equipped the motorcycle with dual disc brakes with a single channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) as standard.
Mechanically, Suzuki Intruder is powered by the same 155cc single cylinder petrol engine with BS6 emissions norms. The engine develops top power of 14.1bhp and peak torque of 14Nm as compared to the BS4 model's 13.6bhp and 13.8Nm. The engine is linked to a 5-speed gearbox, identical to the BS4 model. It locks horns with the likes of Bajaj Avenger 150 Street in the Indian market. The bike has arrived at the dealerships with bookings in full swing while deliveries are expected to start in a few days.
