News Highlights

  • Isuzu dealers have confirmed the launch of BS6 range next month
  • Isuzu had launched the facelifted D-Max V-Cross last year in India

Isuzu Motors India had discontinued its entire range of BS4 products by April 1, 2020 as the BS6 emission norms came into effect. The Isuzu vehicle portfolio in India consisted of MUX SUV and D-Max V-Cross pickup. The company hasn't launched any BS6 compliant vehicle as of now in the Indian market but we have finally some good news on that front. It has been reported by our friends at Team-BHP that BS6 Isuzu MU-X and BS6 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will be launched in the Indian market next month, i.e. September 2020.

 MU-X

We had earlier reported to you that the Japanese automaker had to push back the launch of the BS6 range of vehicles to Q3 due to COVID-19 pandemic. The entire country was under strict lockdown for over a month during April which included the manufacturing units and R&D centres. But now, a few dealers have confirmed that BS6 Isuzu MU-X and BS6 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will be available for sale from next month in India. Presently, the company dealers are rolling out the vehicles from BS4 stock which they had registered under their own names before the deadline of April 1, 2020. The customers buying these will be registered as second owners in official papers. Isuzu had offered discounts worth Rs 1-2 Lakhs on MU-X and D-Max V-Cross in order to clear the inventory.

In addition, the company provided a 3 year/1 lakh km maintenance package to all the buyers free of cost. It was last year when Isuzu had introduced a mid-cycle facelifted version of the D-Max V-Cross pick up in the Indian market while unveiling the next-gen model globally. Besides the V-Cross variant, the D-Max is also available in two other variants - S-CAB and Regular Cab - for the commercial market. All the Isuzu products are locally manufactured at its facility in Sri-City in Andra Pradesh. While the MU-X rivals the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, the D-Max had a challenger in the form of Mahindra Scorpio Getaway but it has been discontinued now in the country.
