Honda 2-Wheelers India has unveiled the BS6 CB300R at the recently concluded 2021 India Bike Week. Inspired by neo sports café styling, BS6 Honda CB300R will be launched in January 2022 in the Indian market. It was on sale in the country for more than a year between February 2019 - April 2020 but Honda discontinued it when BS6 emissions norms came into effect. The CB300R BS4, priced at Rs 2.41 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) was sold as a CBU but the BS6 version would be locally manufactured in India to offer an aggressive pricing.

Upfront, Honda CB300R will flaunt a round LED headlamp. It will boast of a fully digitalized liquid crystal instrument console with Gear Position Indicator, Side Stand Indicator and Gear Shift Warning Lights. The bike will be offered in two color choices namely Matte Steel Black & Pearl Spartan Red. Sitting on a Diamond frame chassis, the suspension duties will be helmed by lightweight inverted USD forks at front and 7 Step adjustable monoshock units at the rear. As for braking, Honda CB300R will get 4-pot radial-mounted calipers with 296 mm hub-less floating disc for front brakes & 220 mm rear disc brakes along with a dual channel ABS which works on Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for uniform front to rear ABS braking.

Mechanically, Honda CB300R will be powered by a BS6 286cc 4 stroke PGM-FI petrol engine which produces maximum power output of 30.7 bhp at 9000 rpm and peak torque delivery of 27.5 Nm at 7500 rpm. These power and torque figures are marginally higher than the BS4 model. The engine will be linked to a 6-speed gearbox with a Assist & Slipper clutch. The bike will ride on 17-inch wheels which will be shod with tubeless front tyre of 110/70 and rear tyre of 150/60. The CB300R will have a fuel tank capacity of 9.7 litres while seat height will stand at 801 mm. It will be sold via the Honda BigWing dealerships. The company has not launched the BS6 (Euro5) version of the bike in any global market and hence India could become the first country to get it.
