BMW Motorrad is gearing up to launch the BMW R 1300 GS motorcycle in India in the coming months. Recently, a few dealerships of the brand have already commenced accepting pre-bookings for the upcoming R 1300 GS model ahead of its official launch in the Indian market. Interested customers can book this motorcycle by paying a token amount ranging from INR 50,000 to INR 1 lakh. As of now, the BMW R 1250 GS is available at a price of INR 20.55 lakh (ex-showroom), and the upcoming R 1300 GS motorcycle is expected to be priced around INR 1.5 lakh or INR 2 lakh higher than its predecessor, the R 1250 GS.
The BMW R 1300 GS comes loaded with various standard features, including engine drag torque control, Full Integral ABS Pro, ride-off assistant, dynamic brake assist, USB socket, dynamic cruise control, dynamic traction control, and a 12V outlet. BMW Motorrad will also offer optional amenities such as Active Cruise Control, Lane Change Warning, and Front Collision Warning.

The latest R 1300 GS features a completely new chassis and suspension setup. The new model weighs 12 kg less than the previous R 1250 GS model. The new bike comes with four riding modes: rain, road, eco, and enduro. The road and rain modes are for different road conditions, while the Eco is specifically for fuel efficiency and the Enduro is for off-road adventures. Additionally, riders can also select additional 'Pro' modes.
The motorcycle gets heated grips as standard, and heated seats will also be available, but buyers will have to pay an extra price for that. The two-wheeler giant offers a handlebar riser that raises the seat height by 30 mm, in addition to a range of seat heights to accommodate different riders. The R 1300 GS comes equipped with the brand's EVO-Telelever center monoshock up front and an EVO-Paralever at the back.
Powering the R 1300 GS bike is a 1,300-cc, 2-cylinder boxer engine that churns out a maximum power output of 143 hp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The powertrain equipped in the R 1300 GS is considered the most robust engine BMW has ever used in a bike intended for mass manufacture. In addition, it weighs less than its predecessor.
