BMW India has launched the M4 Competition Coupé at a staggering price point of Rs 1.44 Crores (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. To be sold as a CBU in a single fully-loaded petrol variant, it can be booked and customized online at the company's official website. BMW M4 Competition Coupé buyers will get membership to the exclusive BMW Excellence Club which boasts of four main categories: Bespoke Travel, The High Life, Grandstand and BMW Privileges. The deliveries of the high-performance coupe will start shortly in India.


As for styling, BMW M4 Competition Coupé flaunts a large vertical signature kidney grille with hallmark double bars in a horizontal design. In addition, there are Adaptive LED Headlights with BMW Laserlight as standard fitment. The sculpted wheel arches are equipped with M gills while the extended side sills get attachment parts for the front and rear aprons. It rides on 19 and 20-inch M forged wheels in double-spoke style with 826 M Bicolour Black finish. The M-specific exterior mirrors in High-gloss Black paint scheme sum up the side profile of the coupe. The rear end boasts of aerodynamically optimized fins, a spoiler and two pairs of exhaust tailpipes finished in Black Chrome.


It is available in six color choices namely Skyscraper grey, Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire, Sao Paulo Yellow, Toronto Red and Alpine White. BMW has introduced a few optional 'Individual' metallic paint finishes in the form of Tanzanite Blue, Dravitgrey, Aventurine Red, Frozen Brilliant White and Frozen Portimao Blue. Furthermore, a few more 'Individual Special' Paintworks are also on offer like Frozen Orange, Frozen Black and Frozen Deep Grey. The interior is finished in a M Leather ‘Merino’ upholstery and Carbon fiber with extended contents in the following dual-tone combinations – Yas Marina Blue & Black, Kyatami Orange & Black, and Silverstone & Black. The cabin is based on modern cockpit concept BMW Live Cockpit Professional.


Some of the notable features in the coupe include electrically adjustable M sport seats with seat heating, lumbar support and memory function, Multifunction steering wheel, automatic anti-dazzle function in all mirrors, Automatic 3 zone A/C, M high performance compound brakes, Ambient Lighting, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Telephony with wireless charging, Head Up Display, Smartphone Integration, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 3D Navigation and 16 speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system. The safety features onboard are Park Distance Control with sensors at the front and rear and Parking Assistant, Comfort Access System, Gesture control, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, 8-airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC).

Mechanically, BMW M4 Competition Coupé is powered by the new 3.0L six-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo petrol engine which develops top power of 510 bhp and peak torque of 650 Nm. Linked to an eight speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, it accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. The driver can access three clearly distinct setups in both automatic and manual mode – comfort oriented, sports focused, or track optimized. EFFICIENT, SPORT and SPORT PLUS settings can be engaged to modify the engine’s characteristics, while selecting the COMFORT, SPORT or SPORT PLUS chassis mode provides access to the three settings for the electronically controlled dampers. The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system also comes as standard.
