BMW India announced a price hike on all its luxury cars starting in January 2024. BMW is also following in the footsteps of its fellow German manufacturer, Audi, with the surging price of its cars. All luxury cars offered by BMW will witness a price hike in India. The German car manufacturer is going to increase the price of its cars by up to 2 percent. New prices will be set in January next year. The manufacturer will implement a price hike on its cars due to volatile exchange rates and rising input costs. The company will reveal the complete price details across its lineup at the end of this year. Audi India has also implemented a price hike of up to 2 percent for its models in India, starting next year.
BMW sells almost 27 models in the Indian market, including five EVs. The decision to implement a two percent hike in BMW’s cars could result in an additional INR one lakh for even its most budget-friendly model. The X1 is the company’s entry-level SUV and currently the most affordable BMW car one can purchase. It is available at a starting price of INR 48.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers will need to pay INR 97,800 more after the implementation of the price hike on this base variant.
