Recently, the Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat Drum Brake variant was launched at a price of Rs 73,274 (ex-showroom), Delhi. This is a comparatively low-priced addition to the popular Pulsar 125 Split seat series. Currently, the top-end Bajaj Pulsar 125 Disc variant is priced Rs 80,218 (ex-showroom), Delhi. Thus while comparing the two, the drum brake variant is around Rs 7,000 cheaper than top-end disc model in the Pulsar 125 Split Seat series. Apart from the drum brake replacing the front disc, there is nothing to distinguish between the two variants in terms of design, features and performance. With the festive season in full swing, the homegrown manufacturer aims to woo customers with an economical Pulsar 125 Split Seat variant.
The new model continues to come with a Combined Braking System (CBS) as it’s mandatory for all two-wheelers in the 125cc segment to have one. This particular trim will be offered in two colour schemes namely Black Silver and Black Red. The Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat rivals the Honda SP 125 and the Hero Glamour 125 in its segment. Moving on to the aesthetics, the bike carries the familiar headlight cowl design that first appeared almost 15 years ago on the first Pulsar 125cc motorcycle. The motorcycle comes with new LED tail-lights, split grab rail, blacked-out exhausts and a halogen headlamp with double pilot lamps. A 3-D logo on the fuel tank and rear cowl give an attractive edge to the bike in terms of styling. As for features, the newly-launched motorcycle come equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster. It consists of an analogue set-up for the tachometer and a digital display for information like speed, fuel gauge, trip meter among others.
The Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat Drum Brake trim is powered by a 4-Stroke, 2-Valve, Twin Spark BS6 compliant DTS-i engine. The bike delivers 11.63 bhp of maximum power output and 11 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Drum Brake variant comes with a telescopic front suspension while the rear stands to provide twin gas shock absorbers. Braking responsibilities are handled by dual 130mm front and rear drum brakes.
