  • The upcoming electric wagon will have cutting-edge features.
  • The electric car retains a pointed hockey-stick-shaped D-pillar from the concept model.

Audi's new electric car, the A6 Avant E-Tron, has been witnessed on the road recently during testing. The brand stated that the new production variant is somewhat like the prototype version of the EV. Recently, a few spy shots of this EV circulated on social media, confirming that several style cues from the concept made it into the final design of the wagon.

The upcoming electric wagon will have cutting-edge features. The exterior of the Audi A6 Avant E-Tron showcases the car’s particular 'Singleframe' grille as a closed panel, flanked by split-style digital matrix LED headlights along with primary units underneath, the DRLs, and a set of angular battery cooling vents.

The Audi A6 Avant E-Tron gets an extensive, low profile, and the dash-to-axle looks more extended than the outgoing model. It retains a trim piece above the windows and a sharp hockey-stick-shaped D-pillar from the concept model. The Avant e-tron also has cameras on sticks for side-view mirrors. The production model will get inset handles instead of pop-out flush door handles. The back diffuser and spoiler are even more subtle in the upcoming EV.

The A6 e-tron is built on Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which also does duty in the Porsche Macan EV. The new E-Tron is likely to have a 100-kWh battery set and an 800-volt design. The battery pack provides a stated WLTP range of 435 miles (700 kilometers), along with DC fast charging of up to 270 kW.

The dual motor equipped in the electric car is likely to churn out horsepower of 469 and 800 Nm of peak torque. Audi is also expected to offer the EV in a single-motor version with air suspension and adaptive damping.

Audi has not revealed the cabin details of the A6 e-tron. However, it is anticipated to take a few cues from the newly launched Q6 e-tron, which received the brand’s new "Digital Stage" infotainment system. This also features a 14.9-inch infotainment system, a 10.9-inch touchscreen for passengers, and a curved glass screen along with an 11.9-inch digital driver's display. The upcoming electric car shares many components with the Q6 e-tron, so it is anticipated that it is likely to get this technology as well. The A6 Avant E-Tron is likely to be launched in mid-2024, shortly after the launch of the sedan version.
