Since it is the first day of the month, so it is the time for the monthly sales report. Hyundai Motor India have thus announced that the company has achieved a sales figure of 12,583 units for the month of May 2020. This is keeping in mind that in April, the auto sector recorded zero sales. With that perspective, these numbers seem to be encouraging and it can also be attributed to the recent launch of all-new Hyundai Creta and Verna facelift.

According to the sales report shared by the South Korean automaker, the second generation Hyundai Creta has received close to 24,000 bookings since its launch in March 2020. In fact, the recent introduction of Hyundai Verna facelift seems to have further helped this cause as the company received an overall 15,000 customer bookings. It also claimed that they had delivered around 11,000 new cars in the month of May.

“In an extremely challenging market environment, HMIL made a humble beginning towards normalcy by registering cumulative sales of 12 583 for the month of May 2020. This performance was made possible on account of strong customer interest and demand pull generated by trendsetter brands like the All New CRETA, Spirited New VERNA, VENUE, ELITE i20 and GRAND i10 NIOS. Drawing strength from Hyundai’s vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, we have prepared ourselves to welcome our customers back in this New Normal while ensuring adherence to safety guidelines at our showrooms and workshops and expedite economic recovery”, commented Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), Hyundai Motor India Limited.

Since easing of restrictions in Lockdown 4.0, Hyundai has reopened more than 850 showrooms which include dealerships and rural sales outlets that are following proper social distancing norms set by the Central and State Governments. As for workshops, a total of around 1000 have been restarted to provide after sale services in compliance with Government Regulations.
