Porsche India has launched the all-electric Taycan at a starting price of Rs 1.50 Crore (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. The brand's first all-electric luxury model is offered in four trim levels namely Taycan, Taycan 4S, Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S. The Italian premium carmaker is yet to announce the pricing of the other three variants. Porsche Taycan will directly rival Audi e-Tron GT which was launched last month in the Indian market in a price range of Rs 1.80-2.05 Crores (Ex. Showroom, India).

Porsche Taycan uses the same platform as the Audi e-tron GT while it is a four-door coupe just like the Panamera. The styling cues have been taken from the Mission E concept which was unveiled way back in 2015. The front end boasts of Matrix LED headlamps with four LED DRL units while the rear profile gets a full-width lightbar. Porsche Taycan has a boot capacity of 400 litres while the front trunk can swallow 80 litres of luggage. The primary highlight of the cabin remains the four touchscreen units: a 16.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch infotainment system, an 8.4-inch dual-zone automatic climate control and a 10.9-inch infotainment system for front co-passenger. The company has not offered physical buttons instead touch sensitive panels have been used.

Porsche Taycan houses a 79.2 kWh battery for the entry-level and 4S variants while the Turbo and Turbo S trims are powered by a bigger 93.4 kWh battery pack. The battery delivers power output of 408 bhp to the electric motors which are mounted at each axle of the base variant. The 4S variant has power output of 530 bhp in the overboost mode. Porsche Taycan Turbo and Porsche Taycan Turbo S have top power of 680 bhp and 761 bhp, respectively. Apart from the base variant which comes with a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system, all the three variants get an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system as standard.
