Porsche India has commenced the deliveries of the Taycan EV in the country. Being launched last year in November at a starting price of Rs 1.50 Crore (Ex. Showroom, India), it is available in four variants namely base, 4S, Turbo and Turbo S. The first unit of Porsche Taycan EV was delivered to a customer at Porsche Centre in Delhi-NCR. Porsche Taycan will directly rival Audi e-Tron GT, Jaguar I-PACE and BMW iX in India as all of these offerings fall in the same price range of Rs 1 Crore+ (Ex. Showroom, India).

Porsche Taycan EV is based on the same architecture as Audi e-tron GT. Though it comes as a four-door coupe body type, identical to the Panamera. The design is inspired by the Mission E concept which was unveiled nearly seven years back in 2015. The front fascia is equipped with Matrix LED headlamps with four LED DRLs. The rear end boasts of a full-width lightbar. The boot capacity stands at 400 litres. The Taycan EV comes with four touchscreen systems: 16.8-inch unit acting as digital instrument cluster, 10.9-inch screen as infotainment system, 8.4-inch unit for dual-zone automatic climate control and a 10.9-inch screen for the front co-passenger. It does not have physical buttons at all.

Some of the notable features in Porsche Taycan EV include wireless software updates, Apple CarPlay, a Bose stereo system, 18-way electrically adjustable seats and adaptive air suspension. It houses a 79.2 kWh battery for the entry-level and 4S variants while the Turbo and Turbo S trims are powered by a bigger battery pack of 93.4 kWh. The electric motors are mounted at each axle of the coupe and the combined power output from these motors is 408 bhp. The 4S variant also gets an overboost model which takes it to 530 bhp. The Turbo and Turbo S variants have maximum power of 680 bhp and 761 bhp, respectively. All the variants are equipped with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system as standard, barring the base trim which gets a rear-wheel-drive system.
