The 2022 Yamaha MT 10 has been unveiled for the global markets. The new iteration of the superbike packs more power than its predecessor while locking horns with the likes of Honda CB1000R and Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS. The Japanese brand has made styling updates while introducing new features and electronics with the latest version of the MT 10. The superbike also gets an updated engine with a surge in power output. It has not been launched in the Indian market before and we doubt if the new version will hit the Indian shores.

Speaking of the updates, the 2022 Yamaha MT 10 flaunts sleek dual projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The company has also tweaked the front air intake system and the rear profile of the bike. It boasts of a single piece seat and a 4.2-inch color TFT screen which has been borrowed from Yamaha's flagship product - the mighty R1. Some of the notable features include four riding modes, engine brake control, cornering ABS, slide control system, cornering traction control, wheelie control, quick-shifter and variable speed limiter. A lot of work has been done on the exhaust note of the 2022 Yamaha MT 10 as now it gets a new titanium exhaust. Sitting on a bridge tube frame, the superbike weighs 212 kgs with a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres.


Mechanically, it carries the tried and trusted 998cc CP4 petrol engine which sees use of lightweight forged aluminium pistons, offset conrods and direct-plated cylinders. It has not only increased the overall power output but also has resulted in higher fuel efficiency. The 2022 Yamaha MT 10 now delivers top power of 164 bhp (up from 158 bhp) and peak torque of 112 Nm (up from 111 Nm). The fuel injection system has also been provided an update so that higher torque delivery is achieved between 4000-8000 rpm. The airbox is also new and it consists of three intake ducts with different lengths and cross-sections. Stay tuned for more information on the Yamaha MT 10.
