Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new Baleno on February 23 in the country. We are already aware that the upcoming hatchback will come packed with a plethora of features including a heads-up display, a new touchscreen, and a 360-degree camera. Recently, it has been revealed that the car will also get a comprehensive suite of connected car features.
The automaker is already offering Suzuki Connect Tech in its existing models. However, the new Baleno is all set to receive an upgraded system. Having said that, the new system will be built on Maruti’s current connected platform. It will further offer additional connectivity features including Amazon Alexa support. With this, the customers can easily use voice commands with the help of Alexa support just like the one that is offered on the fifth-gen Honda City. Besides this, Maruti has also confirmed that the latest connected car tech will support remote commands via the user’s smartwatch. Moving on, the 2022 Maruti Baleno will also come equipped with a 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system that further features a built-in voice assistant. The touchscreen unit will also get Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity.
The upcoming 2022 Maruti Baleno will be offered in a total of six color options namely Splendid Silver, Celestial Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Luxe Beige, Opulent Red, and Grandeur Grey. Once launched, the hatchback will compete against the likes of Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo, and Hyundai i20.
Performance-wise, the new hatchback will carry forward the same 1.2-litre K-Series dual jet, dual VVT petrol engine that will generate 89 bhp power. In the outgoing model, the motor produced 83 bhp power. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The upcoming Baleni will be more fuel efficient than the outgoing model.
