Maruti Suzuki has been working on the 2022 Baleno facelift for more than a year now. It has been learnt that the updated hatchback will finally be launched in the last week of February in the Indian market. The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift will come with a plethora of cosmetic changes in exterior design, new features and tech in the cabin. It was spotted last week undisguised during the TVC shoot in a Blue color while it will be at loggerheads with the likes of Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
As for the styling updates, the front fascia would get several revised elements such as the grille, headlamps, bumper and the hood. The alloy wheel design will also be new. At the rear, the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift will get a redesigned bumper and LED tail-lamp cluster. The tailgate design is also tweaked to bring freshness to the overall appearance of the hatch. The cabin will be upgraded by introducing a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with enhanced connectivity features and tech. The dashboard, upholstery and seat covers will also be fresh. The touchscreen unit will be compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Voice Commands and connected car technology.
Mechanically, the Baleno facelift will not see any major upgrades while powered by the same 1.2L petrol and 1.2L DualJet mild-hybrid engines as the ongoing model. The power output and torque performance are expected to be identical at 89 bhp and 113 Nm, respectively. The hybrid version will get a 5-speed manual transmission as standard while the non-hybrid version will be offered with an additional CVT gearbox. The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift price is expected to start from Rs 6 Lakhs while going as high as Rs 9.50 Lakhs for the range-topping variant (Both the prices are Ex. Showroom). Meanwhile, in other news, Maruti Suzuki will launch the Celerio CNG later this month around January 20.
