2020 Hyundai Creta BS6 Cross 30,000 Bookings

Hyundai India has announced that the 2020 Creta SUV has registered over 30,000 bookings in the country. It topped the chart in the monthly sales of May 2020 to become India's best-seller model. The 2020 Hyundai Creta BS6 was launched on May 16, 2020 but only a handful of deliveries could take place as a 21-day nationwide lockdown was imposed by PM Narendra Modi on March 23 due to Coronavirus pandemic. The lockdown was further extended twice and it was finally in May that the dealerships were allowed to function and deliveries of the Creta resumed.

The company in a release also stated that the 2020 Hyundai Creta BS6 was the most enquired and searched car on the ‘Click to Buy’ digital sales platform. The SUV is the most admired and sought after model recording over 258 million media impressions (since March 2020) and over 19.5 million TVC views. Commenting on the achievement Mr. Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing and Service), Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “All New CRETA has introduced many Industry firsts, becoming an instant hit among customers at launch. Unlocking this achievement of 30 000 bookings despite such challenging conditions, stands testament to All New CRETA’s popularity and exclusive appeal. We are confident All New CRETA will continue to drive customer delight and lead the way back towards normalcy in Automobile sales, with its immense success.”

The South-Korean automaker also revealed that over 55 percent of the booked units are diesel, contrary to general market perception that demand for diesel has died after BS6 norms implementation. Predominantly, the 1.4L turbocharged Kappa GDi diesel engine with 7-speed DCT automatic transmission was favoured by the buyers.  Adorning Hyundai's ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ global design language, the 2020 Hyundai Creta BS6 comes loaded with several bells and whistles in the form of Voice Enabled Smart Panoramic Sunroof, Drive Mode Select, Traction Control Modes, Bose Premium Sound System with 8 Speakers, Auto Healthy Air Purifier with Digital Display and Paddle Shifters.
