Hyundai Alcazar has finally made its global debut in the country. The seven-seater SUV is based on the same platform as the new-gen Creta but it comes with its own unique identity. This is the second three-row SUV from the South Korean brand after Santa Fe. It gets subtle styling updates, new seating arrangements, and mechanical updates. The all-new Alcazar has been manufactured using 89 per cent green energy at the HMIL plant in Irungattukottai, Tamil Nadu.
Hyundai Alcazar gets a slightly different look than the new-gen Creta. The SUV follows the ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design philosophy. It gets minor changes on the front fascia in order to look different from the Creta. The SUV flaunts a totally new grille design upfront, while the front bumper has also been redesigned. When we move to the side, it looks identical to Creta until the B-pillar. Beyond this, the SUV gets slight changes. We can further see a quarter glass around the C-pillar. Besides these, Alcazar gets an upright rear end. Other design bits include a new boot lid, a new rear bumper, new tail lamps, and a new set of alloy wheels.

The interior details of the new Alcazar have not been revealed yet. However, Hyundai has revealed the seating configurations of the SUV. It will be offered in 6- and 7-seat configurations. Talking about the 6-seater variant, it gets captain seats in the middle row with a fixed floor-mounted armrest positioned in the middle while the 7-seater trim comes with a bench seat in the middle row. The second-row seats in both variants are adjustable and come with a one-touch tumble down function, through which one can easily get access to the third row. The third-row occupants get access to a plethora of features such as AC vents and reclining functions. Also, the third row can be folded in case you require extra boot space. The SUV comes with three driving modes - Eco, City, and Sport.
Under the bonnet, the Alcazar comes with two engine options - a 2.0L petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine. As per the earlier information, the seven-seater SUV does not share the exact engine options with the new-gen Hyundai Creta. In comparison to Creta, Alcazar gets a bigger 3rd Gen Nu 2.0L petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 156 bhp. The 1.5L diesel engine, on the other hand, has been carried over from the Creta and generates the same 113 bhp power. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic unit.
