Xiaomi, a Chinese tech company, has released the first images of its first electric sedan, the Xiaomi SU7. The brand is planning to launch the electric sedan later this year. The tech giant revealed the exterior details of the SU7 in December last year. The new EV is codenamed Speed Ultra, which provides hints that it is going to be a performance model. The upcoming sedan will go against models like the Tesla Model S. The Chinese car maker is expected to debut this EV at the forthcoming Beijing Auto Show, which is scheduled for April this year. Xiaomi has not revealed any details regarding the price of the EV.
Inside the cabin, the Xiaomi SU7 gets a futuristic design, but it also has many physical buttons integrated on the dashboard. The official interior images released by the automaker show that the car will get a massive panoramic sunroof, a dual-tone interior theme, a minimalistic centre console along with physical buttons, and more.

The SU7 comes with a long and thin display screen. At the centre, there’s a huge multimedia screen that enables the driver to manage vehicle-related information, music applications, and navigation at the same time. Xiaomi is also offering features like a cup holder, a start-stop button, a wireless charging area that provides 55W fast charging support, fan speed, and physical buttons for settings including air conditioning. The SU7 gets two entertainment screens for the occupants sitting in the back seats. The screens available in the rear cabin appear to be independent of the front touchscreen display.
The SU7 will be powered by a 73.6 kWh battery set, and the top-of-the-line trim will come with a larger 101 kWh battery pack. The CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology developed by Xiaomi integrates the battery into the cars. In vehicles, this technology improves structural rigidity, reduces the height for a more spacious cabin, and eliminates the floor. Xiaomi claims that the new EV will have a range of up to 800 km on one charge. The automaker will also unveil a new variant named V8 later in 2025. The new variant will come with a bigger 150 kWh battery set along with a 1,200 km range.
The entry-level variant of the Xiaomi SU7 is a four-door e-sedan, and it measures 1,963 mm in width, 4,997 mm in length, and 1,455 mm in height. The electric vehicle has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The company is going to offer the sedan in two configurations, and their batteries will have different energy storage capacities.
According to the EV maker, the SU7 electric sedan is going to be the quickest electric vehicle in the world. The automaker claims that the new model can produce at least 21,000 rotations per minute (RPM). It will come equipped with two mass-produced motors: the V6 and V6S. The motor generates power output between 299 hp and 374 hp, with a peak torque output of 635 Nm. The lower variants will get a top speed of 210 kmph; the higher ones, on the other hand, will go up to a top speed of 265 kmph.
