Volkswagen India has launched the Polo Turbo edition and Vento Turbo edition at prices of Rs 6.99 Lakhs and Rs 8.69 Lakhs (Both ex. showroom), respectively, in the country. Being based on the Comfortline trim, Volkswagen Polo TSI Turbo and Volkswagen Vento TSI Turbo come with new exterior and interior features while powered by the 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. The Turbo edition duo can either be booked online on the Volkswagen India website or through the nearest dealership.


The Polo and Vento Turbo editions get a glossy black spoiler, ORVM caps and 'Turbo' badging at the fender. The cabin boasts of dual tone black and red sporty seat covers. Both the Turbo editions come with climatronic automatic air-conditioning feature as standard. Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “Accessibility is at the core of Volkswagen and it’s our constant endeavor to offer customers the ability to experience safe and meticulously German engineered products coupled with a fun-to-drive experience. With the Turbo edition, our aim is to offer continuous & striking enhancements on our popular product offerings – Polo & Vento that appeal to the discerning Indian customers.”


Mechanically, the VW Polo Turbo and VW Vento Turbo are powered by a 1.0L TSI petrol engine which develops a top power of 109bhp between 5000 and 5500rpm. The peak torque performance stands at 175Nm between 1750-4000rpm while it is linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Turbo edition is available in all colors as offered on the standard Polo and Vento. Volkswagen Polo Turbo Edition rivals the likes of Tata Altroz iTurbo and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Turbo while Volkswagen Vento Turbo is up against the likes of Skoda Rapid Rider, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, and Honda City.
