Coronavirus outbreak has triggered a 21-day lockdown across the country. As a responsible brand, Volkswagen understands the anxiousness within its customers towards the safety of their families due to this nation-wide lockdown. Following the footsteps of automotive giants like Tata Motors, Hyundai Motors India, and Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen becomes the next automaker to offer extended service & warranty support to its customers during the ongoing Coronavirus crisis. To deal with this difficult situation, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India is taking several measures to support its customers, dealers, and employees.

“Volkswagen is exercising all the necessary measures and precautions to contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and have been adhering to all the directions as indicated by the Government of India. We understand this tough situation and would like to ensure peace of mind to our customers with extended service support. We would like to reassure them that their Volkswagen car is safe and all services will be provided as applicable. Together, we will emerge stronger,” commented Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India.

The support encompasses all matters concerning the Standard Warranty (SW), purchase of Extended Warranty (EW), current Extended Warranty Packages and Service Value Packages (SVPs).

The Volkswagen customer with Standard Warranty expiring between 22nd March 2020 and mid-May 2020 can avail support and 100% free-of-charge repairs up to 31st July 2020.

As for the Customers with Standard Warranty expiring between 22nd March 2020 and 15th April 2020, they can avail the benefit of buying the Extended Warranty, up to 60 days of the expiry of their Standard Warranty.

All the existing customers with Extended Warranty expiring between 22nd March 2020 and 15th April 2020, can report to Volkswagen's Authorized Workshops till 15th May 2020, for any repairs under the Extended Warranty Policy.

Customers with a valid Service Value Package and whose maintenance is due during the months of March and April 2020, can continue to avail the services with no extra costs at Volkswagen authorized workshops, till 31st July 2020.

Moreover, any maintenance or service appointments due in the months of March and April will be extended until 31st July 2020 with no extra cost. Extension of all these services can be availed at all authorized Volkswagen workshops across India.
