VinFast, a Vietnam-based multinational automotive company, has filed a new design patent in India for its famous Klara S electric scooter. The electric scooter is already available in the international market, and it is possible that the company might bring it to Indian shores as well. However, the auto marque has not confirmed anything yet. The Vietnamese EV maker is well-known for its premium electric cars, but the brand also has an array of e-scooters on sale in Vietnam. The company has now registered a design patent for the Klara S in India.

Notably, VinFast signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tamil Nadu government about 50 days ago. On February 25, 2024, the brand conducted an inauguration ceremony for its 400-acre electric vehicle manufacturing facility located at Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu. It seems like the company is all set to make its mark in the Indian automotive market by unveiling its products in the coming days. The company has also filed a design patent for the VF3 electric car. The SUV comes in two variants: Plus and Eco.

Although the Klara S is a modern electric scooter, it also has a bit of a retro design theme. It comes equipped with a round LED headlamp and turn indicators that are located on the front apron. In Vietnam, the Klara S electric scooter is available at a price of INR 1.18 lakh. The e-scooter is available in five paint schemes: dark blue-black, green, pearl white-black, deep red-black, and matte black.

Powering the VinFast Klara S is a 3-kW hub motor and a battery set of 3.5 kWh. It has a certified high speed of 78 km/h, and it can go up to 194 km on one charge. Instead of Li-Ion, the Klara utilizes an LFP battery that has a capacity of 3.5 kWh. At the front, the electric scooter features a telescopic fork. The Klara S rolls on 14-inch alloy wheels, and it gets disc brakes at both ends.
