Tata Motors has launched the Nexon EV Max at a starting price of Rs 17.74 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. Powered by the Ziptron technology, it will be available in two trim options namely Nexon EV Max XZ+ and Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux. The homegrown automaker has sold more than 19,000 units of the all-electric Nexon SUV in the Indian market while commanding a market share of 87 percent. Tata Nexon EV Max comes with a larger battery pack, extended driving range and reduced charging time.
Tata Nexon EV Max is offered in three color options namely Intensi-Teal (exclusive to the Nexon EV MAX), Daytona Grey and Pristine White. Dual tone body colour will be offered as a standard. Inside the cabin, the central console has been redesigned and it now features a Jewelled Control Knob with active mode display. Other notable bells and whistles include all new Makarana beige interiors, leatherette seats with ventilation for front passengers, air purifier, wireless smartphone charging, auto-dimming IRVM and cruise control. The Nexon EV MAX comprises of enhanced safety features like ESP with i-VBAC (intelligent – Vacuum-less Boost & Active Control), Hill Hold, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Vehicle Hold and all 4-Disc brakes.
The electric SUV also gets three driving modes namely Eco, City & Sport while eight new features have been added in the upgraded ZConnect 2.0 connected car technology which now has a total of 48 features on offer for the occupants. The add-on feature list covers a smartwatch integration, auto/manual DTC check, setting a limit for charging, monthly vehicle reports, and enhanced drive analytics. Tata Nexon EV Max debuts a Multi-Mode Regen feature which will help customers to easily adjust the level of regenerative braking through switches on the floor console. Customers can choose between 4 regen levels based on the driving conditions. In addition, auto brake lamps feature too has been introduced with the SUV and it gets activated once a certain level of regen is achieved.
Mechanically, Tata Nexon EV Max is equipped with a 40.5 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack which comes with a IP67 rating for a weather-proof and worry-proof performance. Having 33 percent higher battery capacity, it delivers an ARAI certified driving range of 437 kms (under standard testing conditions) The power output stands at 143 bhp while torque performance is rated at 250 Nm. The SUV does a 0-100kmph sprint in under 9 seconds while having an electronically limited top speed of 140kmph. The Nexon EV Max is available with options of a 3.3 kW charger and a 7.2 kW AC fast charger. The latter can be installed either at home or at the workplace, which helps in reducing charging time to 6.5 hours. The Nexon EV Max supports a faster charging time of 0-80 percent in just 56 mins from any 50 kW DC fast charger.
