Tata Harrier has been hogging the headlines since the past few months now. While the reasons so far have been the futuristic design of the new SUV by Tata, the cause this time around is a lot different than the past. In fact, this time around, the Harrier is in the news due to a cricket match. The said cricket match is the 21st contest of the ongoing Indian Premier League in the country. Rajasthan Royals were hosting Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur and the cricket game was on in all its glory. However, Tata Harrier came into the limelight when a ball went straight to the car’s windshield.
Chris Lynn was playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders and was at the crease, Shreyas Gopal playing Rajasthan Royals bowled to Lynn. The right handed batsman then swung his bat and hit the ball over deep wicket for a six. The ball cleared the boundary and landed on the windshield of Tata Harrier! However, the car faced no damage and the ball just bounced off the windshield of the SUV. It was only the anti-theft alarm of the Harrier that was triggered and there was no damage to the SUV. Rather the incident became so famous that the official social media handle of the Indian Premier League also decided to post about the incident under the title “TATA Harrier strong enough for a Lynnsane SIX”.
The reason behind the presence of a Tata Harrier at a game of IPL was that Tata Motors has partnered with Vivo to sponsor the 2019 edition of Indian Premier League. This presents the brand with the opportunity to showcase its latest model at every game of the IPL and allows the entire nation to get a glimpse of the vehicle on live television.
Along with displaying Harrier at every IPL game, the company also has announced about a special competition announced wherein the winner is eligible for a free Tata Harrier SUV. This competition has been named “Harrier Fan Catch” and any one of the spectators is also eligible for a prize of Rs. 1 lakh for taking a spectator catch single-handedly whenever the ball takes the aerial route to clear the boundary. The most popular catch will get the Harrier SUV as a grand prize. The winner of the most popular catch will be decided by an online poll. The stroke by the batsman proved a stroke of luck for the Harrier SUV as there is nothing better than free publicity!
