Post the hike in cess, Jeep has also revised prices of its cars, effective September 15, 2017. Its newest model, the Jeep Compass is more expensive by ₹21,000 and go up to ₹72,000, depending on the variant. The Wrangler and Grand Cherokee are also more expensive now, with prices rising by ₹2.75 lakh to ₹6.4 lakh.
Jeep launched the Compass at ₹14.95 lakh, and this aggressive price has helped it garner 10,000 bookings between June 19 and September 1, 2017. This hike may lead to a drop in overall demand, especially for the top-spec diesel models.
The price hike has been extended to other Fiat models including the Linea, Punto and the hatchback’s various offshoots, which now cost more by ₹9,000 to ₹14,000.
