The all-new Jeep Meridian was unveiled last month in the country. The automaker is all set to commence the bookings for the SUV from May 3 onwards. Following this, the deliveries are scheduled to begin in June 2022. Once launched in the country, Jeep’s first three-row SUV will compete against the likes of Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Mahindra Alturas.
The all-new Jeep Meridian shares its underpinnings with the Compass. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle stands at 4769mm in length, 1698mm in width, and 1859mm in height. Furthermore, the seven-seater SUV comes with a 2794mm wheelbase. Cosmetically, the SUV gets an adventurous persona. It features a seven-slot grille upfront. In addition, the three-row SUV gets LED projector headlamps with integrated DRLs, trapezoidal wheel arches, front & rear independent suspensions, and many more.
The cabin of the 2022 Jeep Meridian boasts of a plethora of features. These include a 10.1-inch infotainment system, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control, a 9-speaker alpine sourced audio system, wireless phone charging, and many more. The safety kit consists of six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, a 360-camera, hill start & decent control, ready alert brake, automatic vehicle hold, and rain brake assist.
Performance-wise, the made-in-India Meridian will be powered by a 2.0-litre4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that churns out a top power of 170 bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV will further come with a choice of front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options.
