New Honda City 2020 launch is one of the much-awaited events in the Indian automobile industry but it has hit a stumbling block due to the ongoing Coronavirus impact. Honda Cars India had planned a media drive in Goa to showcase the New Honda City 2020 but the Coronavirus epidemic has put water to this plan. As per the media reports streaming in, the launch of the new-gen Honda City can be expected in April 2020. The new sedan was recently spotted testing without camouflage on the Indian roads. It was first launched in Thailand last year. Honda City locks horns with the Toyota Yaris, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna while being offered in three variants V, VX, and ZX, with CVT options for all three trims.

The Honda City 2020 is different from its predecessor in both interior and exterior. The upcoming fifth-generation City sedan is 113mm longer and 53mm wider than the older model. The C-segment sedan has a shorter wheelbase (11mm) while it is 28mm shorter than the outgoing model. The front-end comes with sharp-looking LED headlights and chrome embellishments on the front grille. The City’s rear-end features stylish wrap-around LED taillamps while electric sunroof is also part of the feature list. Honda City safety features include Anti-lock braking-System with EBS, six airbags, vehicle stability control, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera and seat belt reminder system.

Honda City 2020 Interior comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit supporting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charger, automatic air conditioning among others. 2020 Honda City will arrive with BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. The 1.5-litre petrol engine churns out 117bhp of maximum power and 145Nm of peak torque, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 100bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. Transmission options will be a six-speed manual and a CVT automatic for both petrol and diesel engines. New Honda City 2020 price in India can be expected around Rs 9 Lakhs for the base petrol model. We will keep you posted with the latest news about the launch, price, and configurations in the coming days.
