Automobile manufacturers in India are working around the clock to launch BS6 compliant vehicles before the deadline date of 1st April 2020. Sale and purchase of BS6 vehicles would cease immediately post the deadline. Maruti Suzuki India Limited has been steadily working on launching BS6 compliant vehicles to cater to the burgeoning demand from Indian consumers. Maruti Suzuki has launched Eeco BS6 S-CNG in the price range of Rs 4.64 lakhs - Rs 5.06 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Multi-Purpose Van first made its debut in the Indian market back in 2010 and since then has clocked over 5 lakh units sales till date.

Maruti’s emphasis on 'Mission Green Million' initiative is evident with over 1.15 Million green vehicles including CNG and Smart Hybrid sold so far in country. The BS6 version of Maruti Suzuki Eeco will come in 12 variants, offered with 5-seater, 7-seater, Cargo and Ambulance options. The multi-purpose van offers sufficient space for carrying load safely in any weather conditions with the signature sliding doors providing easy entry and exit. Safety remains an integral part of Maruti Suzuki vehicles as it comes equipped with driver airbag, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, driver & co-driver seat belt reminder, and high-speed alert system.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco BS6 S-CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine that churns out 73bhp and 101Nm of peak torque. Its powertrain comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard. On the occasion of the launch, Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “Maruti Suzuki Eeco has established a strong foothold with its excellent mileage, best-in-segment comfort, space, and power, at a low maintenance cost.
