Lexus LC Convertible Concept Unveiled

Lexus had lifted the wraps of the LC Convertible Concept through a series of pictures few days back. The Lexus LC Convertible Concept finally made its global debut ahead of the 2019 Detroit Motor Show on 14th January. Lexus claims the LC Convertible Concept to be its most breathtaking design ever while also hinting that the new LC Convertible Concept will set the foundation for future designs from the company.

“This concept takes the unmistakable design of the LC Coupe and reimagines it as a future convertible”, said Chief Designer Tadao Mori. “It blends all the best aspects of the original Coupe with the dynamic design of an open-air convertible.”

The new Lexus LC Convertible concept is 4770 mm long, 1920 mm wide and 1340 mm tall, this translates to the convertible being 10 mm longer and 5 mm lower than the coupe. The wheelbase length has remained the same as the Coupe 2870 mm though. The Lexus LC Convertible Concept is very identical to the LC Coupe barring the folding top. However, there are a few design modifications like the black exterior trim and new 22-inch rims on the outside and the white leather and yellow contrast stitching inside.

Lexus has chosen to provide a folding hard top over a soft top. The foldable hard top is stowed away in a compartment behind the rear seats. If the LC Convertible Concept becomes a production model, it will likely attract a hefty premium over its coupe counterpart, which is currently priced from $189,629 and $190,000 in the US in V8 LC500 and hybrid LC500h forms. We can expect Lexus India to launch this car in our country in the future.
