  • Lamborghini Huracan STO gets a 5.2-litre V10 engine
  • The new supercar receives aerodynamic upgrades over the standard Huracan

Lamborghini India is all set to launch Huracan STO on July 15, 2021, in the country. The STO or Super Trofeo Omologata is basically a road-homologated super sports car. It is further inspired by the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Super Trofeo developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corsa for Lamborghini’s own race series. Besides this, the STO will be the fifth Huracan Evo derivative to go on sale.

Cosmetically, Huracan STO gets several upgrades over the standard Huracan. It gets a one-piece front clamshell with louvres on the front fenders. In addition, it features vents in the bonnet, NACA air intakes, a new large front splitter, an air scoop and deflector design sitting atop the engine cover. Towards the rear, the supercar flaunts an adjustable spoiler, a new diffuser, and a redesigned underbody. The new Huracan STO will ride on magnesium wheels. As per Lamborghini, 75 percent of the body panels are made from carbon fibre.

Moving inside the cabin of the Huracan STO, it looks similar to the standard Huracan model. The supercar comes with carbon-backed sports seats, carbon-weaved floor mats, and carbon door panels with lightweight door latches. The Huracan STO weighs 43 kgs less in comparison to the Huracan Performante due to the extensive use of carbon-fibre and other weight saving measures.

The new Huracan comes with three driving modes namely STO, Trofeo and Pioggia. Talking about the STO mode, it is ideal for road driving. While in the Trofeo and Pioggia mode, all the systems are optimized for dry and wet conditions. All the three driving modes can easily be toggled from the main screen.

Performance-wise, the supercar is powered by a 5.2-litre V10 engine that churns out a maximum power of 631 bhp and a peak torque of 565 Nm. The motor is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that further sends power to the rear wheels. Furthermore, Lamborghini claims that the Huracan STO can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds. Besides these, the supercar gets a host of upgrades such as stiffer springs, new anti-roll bars, carbon ceramic brakes, wider track,  and rear-wheel steering.
