News Highlights

  • The 1390 Super Duke GT will be powered by the same 1,350-cc V-twin engine.
  • KTM is expected to launch the new motorcycle on the global market at the end of 2024.

KTM unveiled the 2024 variant of the KTM 1390 Super Duke in the international market at the end of 2023. The introduction of the 1390 Super Duke R hints that the brand will soon reveal more models based on the same platform, and recently, the new KTM 1390 Super Duke GT Sport Tourer has been spotted being tested in Europe. The two-wheeler giant is expected to launch the new motorcycle on the global market at the end of 2024 as a 2025 variant. In its segment, the new motorcycle will compete with the Ducati Diavel V4.

The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT will be powered by the same 1,350-cc V-dual engine equipped in its sibling. The engine can rev higher and perform better thanks to the motor's new variable lift system and valve timing, which are comparable to BMW's ShiftCam technology. In comparison to the 1,301-cc engine integrated into the 1290 Super Duke bike, the new engine churns out 188 bhp of maximum output and 145.07 Nm of torque. The unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT, a sports-touring variant of the Super Duke R, has an updated sub-frame that should provide improved luggage carrying capacity and a cozy pillion seat. In terms of appearance, it receives entirely different bodywork from the Super Duke R motorcycle. It sports bigger grab rails, a massive fuel tank with longer shrouds, and a redesigned headlamp cluster with a tall windscreen.

This surge in performance can be attributed to the brand's unique variable valve timing and lift system, like technologies utilized by Audi and BMW. This technology activates a more aggressive cam profile by lateralizing the intake camshaft adjustments made during operation. As a result, torque increased from 139 Nm to 145 Nm, and the engine's peak RPM was raised from 9,500 to 10,000 rpm.
