Honda’s boss in India, Yoichiro Ueno is quite bullish; “we are expecting quite a big response to the CR-V as this segment is diesel-oriented.” To get a competitive price-tag, Honda will bring a lower-powered version. In other markets, the car uses a 160hp engine, but in India we could be getting the 120hp version.
What may work in Honda’s favour is that the car’s torque output is not too dissimilar, which is handy considering this is a bulky SUV.
