Honda Cars India was conspicuous by its absence at the Auto Expo 2020 but it’s making it is making amends now with the launch of WR-V facelift in April 2020 in the Indian market. The BS6 emission norms are coming into force on April 1, 2020, and automobile majors are racing against time to launch their BS6 compliant vehicles. The Japanese automaker has already planned to launch the updated City with BS6 compliant engines later this month and the WR-V facelift is the next to get BS6 compliant engines.
The WR-V facelift will come with a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine which produces 110bhp. The petrol variants will be powered by a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre engine which delivers 90bhp. We can expect a five-speed manual gearbox for both the engines but we have to wait for the official confirmation on the automatic variant option availability for Honda WR-V.
It’s just not the new set of engines coming with the WR-V facelift, there are revamps in styling as well as new set of features in the vehicle. It comes with an all-new front bumper with striking creases while the grille is completely redesigned. Earlier, the grille had honeycomb pattern but now it features horizontal slats. The front bumper will carry a faux skid plate while LED headlamps will make its way into the new crossover.
Honda WR-V interior looks different too with the introduction of a new upholstery. A couple of new features in form of electric sunroof and cruise control can be expected in the Honda WR-V top variants. It will compete against the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue. Honda WR-V facelift price in India will be revealed in the coming days but we can expect a decent increase in the diesel variants.
