  • The 450 is powered by an all-new Sherpa 450 engine.

Royal Enfield has commenced deliveries of the Himalayan 450 in India after launching this most-awaited motorcycle at Motoverse 2023. The motorcycle manufacturer is offering the new Himalayan 450 in three variants, and all these variants will come in three different color schemes. The base variant of the Himalayan also comes with updated features. Royal Enfield launched the 450 in India last week. It is available at an introductory price of INR 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom), and it goes up to INR 2.84 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Himalayan 450 is powered by an all-new Sherpa 450 engine. It is a single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power output of 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The new Himalayan gets ride-by-wire, enabling the company to offer two riding modes: Eco and Performance. The sole difference between these two riding modes is the throttle response. The Himalayan 450 has replaced the 411 in Royal Enfield’s line-up, and it competes with the likes of the BMW G 310 GS, the Yezdi Adventure, and the KTM 390 Adventure.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 comes with a new TFT instrument cluster that displays all the important information. The instrument cluster can be managed by a joystick, and it is also available with Bluetooth connectivity that enables full maps and Tripper Navigation.

The Himalayan 452 now utilizes a new twin-spar tubular frame, and the suspension is done by a monoshock in the back and an upside-down 43 mm forks at the front. Braking duties are performed by a disc at the front as well as at the back. The motorcycle comes with a dual-channel ABS that is switchable on the back wheel. Both the Himalayans 450 and 452 utilize a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch wheel at the back. Both motorcycles have spoked wheels, while the international models will get tubeless spoked wheels. The company is trying to homologate the spoked tubeless wheels for the variants available in the Indian market.
