Hero Electric registered the highest sales in September this year. As per the latest report by JMK Research and VAHAN dashboard, the brand has successfully recorded sales of over 6500 units last month. The brand offers several electric scooters in the Indian market. These include Flash, Optima, NYX, Photon, and Dash. With the advent of FAME II and additional state government subsidies, these scooters are priced attractively.

Back in June 2021, FAME II subsidies for electric scooters were raised from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per kWh battery capacity. Due to this, the overall subsidy cap doubled to 40 percent of the cost of the two-wheeler. Moreover, due to a sudden increase in fuel prices, the demand for electric scooters saw a drastic rise. This further justified the sales report of Hero Electric for September 2021.

“Hero Electric has been on the forefront and leader in embarking the journey towards EV adoption in India. The industry has seen its biggest growth for EVs pertaining to the compressive approach and consumer-friendly policies, further propelling the demand for sustainable mobility solutions. With the increased awareness and better infrastructure, Hero Electric achieved a larger sales volume and eyes upward growth trajectory in the coming months. We look forward to the festive season and are all geared to meet the rising electric two-wheeler demand in the country,” as commented by Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric.

Talking about Hero Electric, it has a total of 339 dealerships across 162 cities in the country. The brand further plans to launch exclusive experience showrooms in major cities with an aim to create more awareness of electric vehicles in India. Besides this, the company further plans to increase the capacity from 1 lakh units to over 5 lakh units by March 2022. Moving on, Hero Electric will also expand the capacity of its new production unit in Ludhiana.
