  • This unveiling is taking place in honour of the firm's historic comeback to the enduring racing season of 2023.

Ferrari, an Italian luxury carmaker has once again left the world awestruck. At the Ferrari World Finals at the Mugello Circuit, they unveiled the 499P Modificata Sports Prototype, one of their best-selling products. This specially designed, non-competitive, time-limited track use vehicle is an improved version of the 499P, which won the Le Mans Centenary race in June of this year. The model's unveiling followed a celebration of the company's historic return to the 2023 endurance racing season.

Despite being a similar model to the 499P, the 499P Modificata is exempt from FIA WEC sporting and technical regulations, which has enabled Ferrari's engineering team to make several significant improvements to the model. Ferrari asserts that these enhancements can boost driving thrills and make the model’s performance more accessible.

The electric axle and 4-wheel drive, which can be engaged even at much slower speeds, are two of the modifications. Additionally, drivers have the option to use an additional 120 kW of power thanks to the "Push to Pass" function. Additionally, the company has used Pirelli-manufactured tires and completely recalibrated the engine mappings, electronic controllers, and suspension setup.

The cockpit of the 499P Modificata is still equipped with the single-seater arrangement and ergonomics of the 499P, giving customers a comparable driving experience. The model is the highest-performing closed-wheel vehicle Ferrari has ever offered for non-competitive track use, thanks to its derivation from the 499P.

With an electric motor on the front axle and an internal combustion V6 mounted in the mid-rear, the 499P Modificata's hybrid powertrain can generate up to 640 kW of peak power. A 200 kW electric motor with a differential and an Energy Recovery System (ERS) integrated into the powertrain facilitates battery charging while braking and decelerating.

Beginning in 2024, the limited-edition vehicles will compete in the Sport Prototipi Clienti program, which will run alongside the F1 Clienti program currently in place. Owners of 499P Modificata will be able to take part in numerous events on international tracks each year thanks to this.
