Maruti updated its Ertiga last year and the new model brings in a plethora of changes. From looks to features to space, the new Ertiga has come a long way since the last model. While Ertiga was launched in the price and mileage conscious market of India in only one version, Suzuki plans on launching a sporty GT version of Ertiga in Indonesia pretty soon. Slated for a March 22 launch in Indonesia, the photos of Ertiga GT are already doing rounds on the internet.

The photos of Ertiga GT reveal all the changes one can expect in the newer model of the MPV. Among a lot of other additions, the newer Ertiga GT will have a body kit to give it a sporty look. This is bound to significantly increase the road presence of the GT version of Suzuki’s MPV.

Looking at the front of the sportier version, a new spoiler under the body with red accent visible from the front is present, the grille has been given a honeycomb look and the same red-accented skirts are visible on the sides of the MPV as well. On the rear side, Ertiga GT gets a red-accent spoiler under the body, the bumpers have black accents on them, and there is spoiler present on the roof. Also, there is a change in badging as the sportier version will have GT emblazoned on the rear.

The red highlights could also make their way inside the car and a red interior accent on door trims, dashboard, and seats are likely. However, there is no photo of the same, as the leaked images reveal the exterior alone.

Ertiga in Indonesia is offered with the same 1.5-liter petrol engine that one finds in India. Apart from the changes in body kit, Suzuki may not make any changes in the engine department. The engine is rated to produce 105 PS-138 Nm and comes paired with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed auto transmission.

As has been the case with a lot of other sportier version of cars, the chances of the sportier Ertiga coming to India are slim to say the least. However, this does not mean the company is satisfied with its line-up, Maruti has been toiling at bringing Ertiga’s upmarket variant in India. Speculations are rife that in order to take on Mahindra Marazzo, the new Ertiga could come with 6 seats in a 2+2+2 configuration, with the 2nd row seats being captain seats. While the new upmarket Ertiga MPV could have a butch outer appearance with a lot of cladding, the insides will be more upmarket.
