  • It will be 5 kgs lighter than the Multistrada 950 S
  • It could be priced higher than the Multistrada 950 S

Ducati India has announced the launch of the 2022 Multistrada V2 on April 25 in the country. It is one of the 11 product launches planned by Ducati for the Indian market in 2022. Ducati Multistrada 950 is already on sale in India in a single 'S' variant at Rs 15.49 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). Ducati Multistrada V2 price is expected to be slightly higher over the 950 S due to some subtle updates. The Italian bike maker is believed to be launching a base variant of the Multistrada range as well at a later stage in the domestic market.

As far as updates are concerned in comparison to the 950 S, it will get a new clutch and tweaked gearbox while being lighter in weight by nearly 5 kgs due to inclusion of lighter mirrors and wheels. Ducati Multistrada 950 S and Ducati Multistrada V2 will have kerb weights of 221.8 kgs and 224.9 kgs, respectively. The latter can be distinguished from the former through the new engine cover design. Also, the connecting rods inside the motor have been redesigned. But power output and torque delivery of both the bikes remain the same at 113 bhp at 9000 rpm and 96 Nm at 7750 rpm. The seat is lower and narrowed while the position of the footpegs has also been shuffled a bit.

A plethora of elements are common between the two bikes such as the suspension, brakes and electronics. It is equipped with an upside-down fork at front while the rear end features a fully adjustable monoshock set-up. The braking duties are helmed by 320 mm Brembo discs upfront while there is a 265 mm single disc at the rear. The features onboard are cornering ABS, traction control, selectable ride modes and a hill hold function. Though, it will miss out on full LED headlight, 5-inch TFT dash, backlit switches, cruise control and a bi-directional quickshifter. Stay tuned for more updates on the same.
