The free charging will be initially provided at 35 stations which are operational along the ring road at South Extension, Bikaji Cama Place, Defence Colony, Lajpat Nagar, Mayur Vihar, Netaji Subhash Place, South Campus, Nelson Mandela Road, Hauz Khas, Green Park, Greater Kailash, Punjabi Bagh, Rohini, Saket, Shalimar Bagh, Preet Vihar among others. “We will provide charging to all commercial and non commercial EV users for free between 12 noon and 3 pm. Moreover, battery swapping service will also be available at these stations shortly. As per the data provided by Delhi Government, nearly 10 percent of the total vehicles purchased in the national capital between January and March were electric vehicles. As many as 10,707 electric vehicles were sold during this period, out of which 5,888 were e-two wheelers. "Public charging will change the charging pattern of EV users if properly incentivised. It should be prioritised and this narrative has to change with speed in public charging infrastructure work," added Dhanuka.
