Mercedes-Benz India has experienced a significant year thus far, with up to ten new model launches planned for the nation by the end of 2023. The German luxe automaker has already introduced eight new vehicles, including a number of significant all-electric models like the most recent EQE SUV. The automaker is providing current ICE Mercedes-Benz owners with an exclusive loyalty voucher as part of its Sustainability Fest. To encourage existing customers to adopt EVs, the voucher offers a Rs 5 lakh discount on electric models like the EQB and the EQE. Additionally, Mercedes-Benz would pay 50% of the road tax in states like Telangana that impose that fee on EV registration. Mercedes-Benz India intends to convert 50% of its lineup into all-electric models by 2025, and programs like the Sustainability Fest are intended to encourage the adoption of MB EVs and help the company meet that goal.
Despite supply chain disruptions that have caused delays in deliveries of the GLA, GLC, and GLS SUVs, the brand has continued to expand there and sold 12,768 cars there between January and September 2023. indicating an increase of 11% from the previous year. More significantly, demand for vehicles in the company's premium range, including those like the S-Class and higher, has increased by 22%. Mercedes-Benz India still owes two new car launches, both of which are expected to be SUV models and to hit the market by the end of 2023.
