The new track-ready model gives us a preview of what to expect on the upcoming Continental GT road car that will go on sale in 2020.
The same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that powers the Continental GT V8 sits under the hood of this car. However, it has been tuned to make 550hp here. Bentley has collaborated with BMW’s M-Sport when producing this car. Bentley claims this car is really light, in fact, it’s a total of 1,300kg lighter than the previous GT3 and compared to the road-going W12 car’s 2250kg, this is a massive decrease.
The aggressive body work features a deep front spoiler, wide wheel arches, aerodynamic fins and a huge rear wing. On the inside, there’s an FIA-spec roll-cage and six-point harness, while mechanical upgrades include a lightweight racing battery, race-spec ABS and traction control, a carbon-fibre propshaft and four-way adjustable racing dampers.
It will make its racing debut at the opening round of the 2018 Blancpain Cup at Monza on April 21, 2018.
The car will feature revisions to the exterior and changes on the inside. ...
