Audi has commenced the local production of its soon to be launched Audi Q5 facelift at its production plant in Aurangabad. The SUV is all set to be launched next month as a CKD. The updated Q5 gets subtle changes both on the exterior and interior. Once launched, it will compete against the likes of Land Rover Discovery Sport, Mercedes Benz GLC, and BMW X3.
In terms of design, the Audi Q5 facelift features a larger and more prominent grille with honeycomb pattern upfront. In addition, it gets new LED headlamps, revised bumper, and blacked-out treatment on the front end. Besides these, the new Q5 flaunts bigger side intakes along with newly-styled alloy wheels. The rear end of the vehicle boasts of new tail lights with digital OLED tech and revised bumper.
The cabin of the new Q5 gets minor tweaks in the layout along with a few feature additions. The feature highlight of the cabin is the larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display with a new MIB3 platform. The infotainment unit is compatible with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The car further comes equipped with connected car technology and Amazon Alexa integration. Other features include triple zone climate control, ambient lightning system, wireless phone charger, electrically adjustable front seats, and cruise control.
Performance-wise, the Q5 facelift is likely to get a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of returning 242 bhp top power and 370 Nm peak torque. The motor is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Furthermore, power is sent to all four wheels via the Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
