Piaggio Group will be launching its maxi-style scooter Aprilia SXR 160 anytime soon. We can expect it to be priced in the range of Rs 1.15 lakh - Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Furthermore, the scooter was recently spotted at a dealership in Mumbai. The images for the same have been leaked online. As for the bookings of Aprilia SXR 160, Piaggio had already commenced it a week earlier at a token amount of Rs 5000. The production of the scooter has also begun at Aprilia’s Baramati Plant near Pune.

In terms of design, the upcoming Aprilia SXR 160 gets a bold look upfront due to the split LED headlights inspired by RS660. In addition, it features C-shaped DRLs and a big windscreen. Towards the rear, the scooter provides a LED tail-lamp with integrated rear blinkers. Other design bits include 12-inch 5-spoke petal machined alloy wheels, wide handlebars, angular front apron, and exhaust with chrome inserts. Furthermore, the scooter is offered with a flat comfortable seat with plenty of under-seat storage.

The Aprilia SXR 160 will come equipped with a plethora of features. These include a fully digital instrument console that will offer important readouts like speed, odometer trip meter, ABS status, and fuel-efficiency. We can also expect it to offer Bluetooth connectivity and a USB charging port.

Mechanically, the scooter is powered by a 160.03cc, 3-valve, single-cylinder motor that also powers the SR 160. The engine further generates a maximum power of 10.7 bhp and a peak torque of 12 Nm while being paired with a CVT gearbox. In terms of suspension, the scooter is likely to provide telescopic forks upfront and a mono-shock unit towards the rear.
