Kia cars have been getting an overwhelming response in the Indian market. The brand is all set to launch EV6 in the country later this year. This is going to be Kia's first all-electric offering in the domestic market. The automaker will be commencing the India bookings of the EV6 on May 26. It will land on our shores via the CBU route. Initially, the vehicle will be limited to 100 units only.
Design-wise, Kia EV6 gets a sporty outlook. The electric crossover is based on the Hyundai Group's Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The design bits include sleek DRLs with a sequential dynamic light pattern, a wing-type roof spoiler, and a raised lower spoiler. A character line is seen running along the bottom of the doors and curving upwards towards the rear wheel arches. The rear profile of the vehicle boasts of a sloping C-pillar with an integrated black glossy insert.
The cabin of the Kia EV6 boasts of a plethora of features. These include a 12-inch dual-screen high-tech infotainment system, 14-speaker Meridian® surround audio system, driver assistance systems (ADAS), Safe Exit Assist (SEA), Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), and Lane Following Assist (LFA). Besides these, the electric crossover also comes equipped with ‘Kia Connect’ which further features a range of Kia real-time services and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Performance-wise, the EV6comes equipped with two battery options namely 58 kWh and 77.4 kWh, both available in single and dual motor versions. The 58 kWh battery with a single motor generates a top power of 168 bhp. The dual-motor version, on the other hand, produces a combined output of 232 bhp power. Talking about the 77.4 kWh battery with a single motor, it dishes out 226 bhp power. While the dual-motor version churns out 321 bhp power. The top-end dual-motor GT variant generates a top power of 577 bhp and a peak torque of 740 Nm.
