Nissan Unveils All-New Kicks SUV with More Robust Engine

Nissan has unveiled a new iteration of the Kicks sports utility vehicle ahead of its official debut at the 2024 New York International Auto Show. The 2025 Kicks comes with increased interior space and a more robust powertrain. The automaker has been testing the concepts of the updated Kicks model over the past several months. The Japanese car manufacturer has now taken the wrap off the production-ready variant, which is significantly different in comparison to the outgoing model.

The company used to sell the Nissan Kicks in the Indian market as well, but it discontinued the SUV in 2023 due to poor sales performance. The Indian SUV segment is witnessing rapid growth, and now the auto giant has updated the SUV, so we can expect the company to bring back the Kicks in the country. In terms of its design language, the all-new Nissan comes with a chunky and wide horizontally fixed front grille, which has vestiges of the vintage design philosophy. The signature Nissan V-Motion grille at the front has been replaced, and the headlamps have become narrower.

The new SUV is about 3 inches longer, wider, and taller than the previous model. Across the lineup, the Kicks SUV is heavier by 136 kg. Powering the Nissan Kicks is a larger 2.0-litre engine that adds more weight to the car. The motor churns out power of 139 bhp and peak torque of 190 Nm. It is paired with the brand’s Xtronic CVT AT transmission as standard.

The 2025 Nissan Kicks houses premium LED lighting at the front end with the latest light signature, a beefy bumper, and a muscular hood. The car also features a pair of bold alloy wheels, a revamped rear section along with LED taillights, and a dual-tone body color option. The SUV houses upgraded seating with the brand's "Zero Gravity" design. The Nissan Kicks variants come loaded with features like an infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto, a seven-inch driver display, and Apple CarPlay. The SR variant gets larger 12.3-inch units. The car gets a Bose 10-speaker audio system, an optional 360-degree surround-view camera, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. 

In terms of safety features, the Nissan variants come with an updated suite, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, automatic emergency braking, and more. The SR variant also boasts the brand’s ProPilot Assist for light-touch assisted highway driving. The latest Nissan Kicks is all set to be launched in the U.S. and Canada in 2025.
