In India, the middleweight motorcycles are available at a price of INR 17.44 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The 2024 Aprilia RS 660 and Tuono 660 motorcycles arrive in the country as Completely Built Units (CBUs). The new bikes offer classic Italian performance and style. Bookings for the new bikes are now open in India. Customers who are looking to reserve the new Aprilia models will have to pay 50 percent of the total amount. Additionally, the waiting period is expected to be 3 months or more.

The Aprilia RS 660 and Tuono 660 come with five riding modes: Dynamic, Commute, Challenge, Individual, and Time Attack. Both Aprilia versions are packed with cutting-edge functionalities, including traction control, wheelie control, a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), engine braking management, cruise control, fully LED lighting, and a three-level Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).

The RS 660 and Tuono 660 are built on the same platform. Powering the RS 660 and Tuono 660 is a 659-cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. The motor generates 100 bhp of power and 67 Nm of peak torque on the Aprilia RS, whereas the Tuono 660 receives a slightly lower power of 95 bhp and peak torque of 67 Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

Both middleweight bikes have a perimeter frame with a monoshock at the back and 41 mm KYB USD forks at the front. Preload and rebound adjustments are provided at both ends. Braking duties are done by dual 320 mm front discs and one 220 mm rear disc brake. The motorcycles roll on 17-inch alloy wheels.

In terms of design, the full-faired RS 660 motorcycle draws inspiration from the larger RSV4. On the other hand, the Tuono 660 mirrors the aesthetics of the brand’s flagship naked bike powered by the V4 motor. The Tuono has a more upright and relaxed riding posture, whereas the RS 660 adopts a more committed riding stance.

In their respective segments, both models compete with the various robust motorcycles available in the Indian market. The 2024 Aprilia RS 660 rivals the likes of Ducati Supersport and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, whereas the Tuono 660 gives tough competition to Ducati Streetfighter V2, Triumph Street Triple 765 RS, and more.
