Toyota India has released a teaser image of the 2022 Glanza hatchback ahead of its official launch in the country. Based on the recently launched 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift, it will go on sale from March 15 in the Indian market. The 2022 Toyota Glanza facelift has been spotted undisguised and the cosmetic updates at the outside as well inside the cabin are identical in nature with the Maruti Baleno. The hatch will be the most affordable offering from Toyota which also retails the likes of Urban Cruiser, Innova Crysta and Fortuner in India.
Speaking of the cosmetic updates, the 2022 Toyota Glanza facelift will flaunt a bespoke front grille while the bumpers have also been reworked. The rear profile has been carried over from the current model with the LED tail-lamp cluster similar to the new Maruti Baleno. The interior cabin will also be a carbon copy of the Baleno with features like head-up display, 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, cruise control and 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. As for safety features, it will boast of 6-airbags, hill hold assist, ESP, ABS with EBD, driver & co-driver seat belt reminders, rear parking sensors and high speed alert system.
Mechanically, the 2022 Toyota Glanza facelift will be powered by the same 1.2L petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. We have already seen this powertrain setup in the 2022 Baleno facelift where it develops top power of 89 bhp at 6000 rpm and peak torque of 113 Nm at 4400 rpm. The power and torque figures are expected to be the same in the upcoming Glanza facelift. The transmission choices could include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. The mileage numbers for the manual as well as the automatic gearbox will also be shared with the Baleno. The 2022 Toyota Glanza facelift will lock horns with the likes of Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, Tata Altroz, Maruti Baleno and Honda Jazz in the Indian market.
The cool new Toyota Glanza comes with improved performance and a dynamic look ...
The new hatchback can be booked at a token amount of Rs 11,000 online and at company dealerships ...
