Jaguar Land Rover India has launched the 2022 Range Rover Sport at a starting price of Rs 1.64 Crores (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. It will be available in three trims namely Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE and Autobiography while a First Edition will be on offer throughout the first year of production, featuring a specially curated specification. The 2022 Range Rover Sport bookings have started at the company authorized dealerships in the Indian market while it directly rivals Volvo XC 90 and Porsche Cayenne.
Design-wise, the 2022 Range Rover Sport boasts of an assertive front-end with a stealth-like front grille, Digital LED lighting units and signature DRLs. The SUV rides on Satin Grey alloy wheels while there are Satin Burnished Copper finishes at the bonnet louvres and side ingots. The front grille and Range Rover lettering are finished in Matte Graphite Atlas. Tactile and lightweight Ultrafabrics premium textiles are on offer, finished in attractive new Duo Tone colourways, while a unique textile option that extends to the dashboard and door detailing is also available. Alternatives include luxurious Windsor or soft Semi-Aniline leather options. Based on the flexible mixed-metal architecture (MLA-Flex), the SUV features Dynamic Air Suspension with switchable volume air springs – a Range Rover first.
Some of the notable features in the 2022 Range Rover Sport include Integrated Chassis Control system, Adaptive Dynamics 2 technology, Terrain Response 2 system, Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control, 22-way adjustable, heated and ventilated electric memory front seats with massage function, 13.7-inch Interactive Driver Display and Next-generation Cabin Air Purification Pro with PM 2.5 filtration & nanoe X technology. In addition, the buyers get a Meridian Signature Sound System with 29 speakers, a new subwoofer and up to 1430 W of amplifier power – including four headrest speakers. The higher variants are equipped with Next generation Active Noise Cancellation, Deployable Door Handles with Proximity Sensing and Soft Door Close & Approach Unlock.
The centre console in the SUV is fitted with the award-winning 13.1-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment system with Software Over The Air (SOTA). The 2022 Range Rover Sport also comes with the latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) which include 3D Surround Camera, including front and rear parking sensors, Wade Sensing, ClearSight Ground View and Manoeuvring Lights – Cruise Control and Driver Condition Monitor. Mechanically, the SUV is powered by a 3.0L six-cylinder 48 V mild-hybrid Ingenium diesel engine which is compatible with Land Rover’s powerful Electrical Vehicle Architecture (EVA 2.0). The engine delivers top power of 296 bhp and peak torque of 650 Nm.
