Maruti Suzuki has been working on the next-gen Vitara Brezza for the past couple of years or so. Now, we have learnt that the new iteration of the SUV will finally be launched in India on June 30, 2022. The 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza bookings are expected to start in the coming few days at the company dealerships as well as online. Though, a few dealers have already begun taking orders for the SUV at a token payment of Rs 11,000. Needless to state, the all-new Vitara Brezza will get radical styling updates and modern features.
As compared to the outgoing version of the SUV, it will come with a sunroof and it makes the new-gen Vitara Brezza the first Maruti model to come with this feature. The front fascia is entirely new with elements like sleep dual-pod LED headlamps and chrome grille. The side profile boasts of black cladding and dual tone alloy wheels. As for the rear end, it will be equipped with a wraparound LED tail-lamp cluster. Maruti Vitara Brezza was originally launched six years back in 2016 and it has already crossed the sales milestone of 7 Lakh units. The company had phased out the diesel variants in 2020 ahead of the BS6 emission norms and the SUV only comes with a petrol engine.
Being based on the current model's Global-C platform, the new Vitara Brezza will be powered by the same 1.5L petrol engine albeit with mild-hybrid technology. The power output and torque delivery are likely to be the same at 104 bhp and 138 Nm, respectively. The engine will be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission will replace the current 4-speed automatic unit. The variant nomenclature, in all likelihood, will be retained. The next-gen Maruti Vitara Brezza will have a plethora of rivals in the form of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Toyota Urban Cruiser in the sub 4-m SUV segment in the Indian market.
