2022 Indian Motorcycle Chief line-up for the Indian market has been revealed. The Chief range would consist of three motorcycles namely Chief Dark Horse, Chief Bobber Dark Horse and the Super Chief Limited. The new bikes would be launched in India in Q2 2021 with prices starting from Rs 20.76 Lakhs (ex-showroom, India). Prices for the individual models haven’t been revealed yet but one can pre-book them for a token amount of Rs 3 Lakhs. The upcoming bikes will come equipped with new technology updates and Indian Motorcycle accessories. The new bikes will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iconic Indian Chief motorcycle.


Talking about the design, the 2022 Chief and Chief Bobber Dark Horse come in a glossy black finish. On the other hand, Super Chief Limited sports a premium chrome finish. The new 2022 Chief range of motorcycles will feature a wheelbase of just 64-inches, a low seat height of 26-inches and a wet weight of 303 kgs. All the three upcoming motorcycles will feature 46 mm front forks and a 28.5degree lean angle.


All the three 2022 Chief models are powered by the Indian Motorcycle's 1890cc Thunderstroke 116 air-cooled V-twin engine. The cylinder deactivation tech-powered engine will deliver 162Nm of peak torque. All three bikes will come loaded with ABS and the brand's Ride Command system as a standard offering. The Ride Command System comes with two different gauge configurations alongside several additional details like bike & ride information, Bluetooth phone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The riders can manage the functions through the grip controls or via the 4-inch touchscreen display itself. Other notable features are cruise control, keyless ignition, 3 ride modes, all-LED lighting and USB charging port. 


Speaking on the announcement of the 2022 Indian Motorcycle Chief Line-Up, Mr Lalit Sharma, Country Manager, Polaris India Pvt Ltd released a statement. He said 'Our Chief line-up has a glorified history and is one of the iconic motorcycles of the Indian Motorcycle portfolio. We are launching this model to pay tribute to the Indian Chief on completing 100 years in the market. We have priced the new Chief line-up keeping in mind the love of our customers for the model. We are looking forward to making history again for our new Chief line-up in the market.'
